This entry is meant to be a preview of what's coming up. I haven't had the chance to do any couple articles this year. So I'm devoting the entire summer to Romance articles. Now real quick I'm going to state for the record, I would never do an article for a couple that I did not really see potential for, or did not see some evidence of on the show. Also I know some people might like different couples than the ones I do and I'm willing to hear other opinions. Again for some who do not know this; TV pairings are often referred to online as "Ships." Which is short for relationship. Those who like a particular ship are known as "Shippers." Every article will have a picture of the matching ship on its' preview. If you're not into it, you don't have to click on it. I'll never forget how wonderful Ars Armatoria used to be. Please be sure to look back at the article; A Special Internet Source Credit, for more info on this website. I know recreating that site would take way too long, but I do hope I can pull this off in my own way, which will also be fun and enjoyable for everyone. I am still a huge fan of PR romance and I'm going to have as much fun with this as I possibly can. I also still strongly believe in my personal love philosophy; "Love should be a Challenge!" This will be the standard by which I judge all Cannon and Fannon couples.
The initial premise of Power Rangers was that they are "Teenagers with Attitude." All teenagers experience love feelings at one point or another. Of course also this show has always had a strong focus on selling toys, so romance often got shafted. However it does exist in every season. Sometimes it works well, and sometimes it doesn't. Many fans agree that we will never have a paring exactly like Tommy and Kimberly. Kimberly is gorgeous, which drew a lot of fans into the show. Tommy's opening story was super action-packed, and it became quite ironic that the guy who finally made Kimberly freeze and swoon like crazy turned out to be a "Wolf in sheep's clothing" so to speak. It took time for them to finally get together after he was turned good in part 5. However once they got together it became super popular. Some writers and producers took notice of this and tried to recreate it often. However it does get tedious at times, you can't always have the cute girl fall for the mysterious sixth Ranger. Especially I gotta say Cassie from Turbo and Kira from Dino Thunder had much better chemistry with TJ and Conner. So yeah I did not appreciate how the writers tried to steer them towards a Tommy and Kimberly recreation. Other times fans have been left very disappointed that we didn't get a proper conclusion. Like Carlos and Ashley for example. Why did that stop half-way through Turbo? Mostly to make room for Andros I guess. So hey there have been hits and misses. Also while reviewing the classic seasons I think I stumbled onto one potential gay pair! I'm going to include this in the Summer of Romance. I'm not going to tell you what it is now, but be on the lookout for that. It's always fun to look at this subject again in my opinion. I like knowing there's more going on this show than just the heroes fighting to save the world. Also I like that the Rangers experiencing the trials and tribulations of teen love is a great way to remind us of how human these characters actually are. Plus it is also a great excuse to use pictures and share memories of Ars Armatoria as well. I will make references to the classic fan site often. They never had a gay pair on there though, so that shows I'm even more creative. I hope the Summer of Romance will be lot of fun. Stay tuned everyone!
I love that your writing is so positive and enthusiastic! You really make it engaging to read. And I also agree with you that the best relationships are the challenging ones!
This is great, Max! I sent a note to lots of teenagers to check it out. Summer of Romance - something the world needs. Great job. I look forward to more. -ProfRoc
