Happy Summer of 2022, Power Rangers fans. I firmly and respectfully apologize for my extended absence for a huge chunk of this year. I have been planning lots of new ideas and doing other projects for friends. In addition I have had the opportunity to properly catch up on reading more chapters of the early Boom Studios comics. If my plans go like I hope, then possibly early next year, I would very much like to add a full out review of the "Shattered Grid" event. In the comics they have added some very interesting new ideas like creating back stories for the villains. They gave Goldar a brother named Sliverback who was destroyed by Rita. I also have come to strongly appreciate the character of Mike Cook who by my evaluation is certainly more than just a distraction for Kimberly. He develops well over time and demostrates his own different levels of bravery. If you want to see a fun new spin on the classic Tommy and Kimberly romance check out Mighty Morphin. Or if you want to see a brand new romantic drama for Kimberly Hart check out Go Go. Go Go and Mighty Morphin each have different plot elements and exciting ways to amp up the drama for our heroes. I have also read through the In Space and Time Force stories. Respectfully titled "Psycho Path" and "Sins of the Future". Psycho Path was a fascinating story. Despite a very heavy focus on Andros and Karone, they squeezed in one moment to focus on Cassie. Since she is still my all time favorite favorite Pink Ranger, the fact that she even gets one highlight panel is something that I do very much appreciate. The Green psycho character is certainly also a fascinating new creation. The former Super Sonic Green ranger has a well detailed dark storyline that was well told through the bonus eight page prologue at the back of the book. I must confess that to me, The Time Force story seems a little bit trapped. It almost felt like it was latched on to the plot of the Hyper Force web series and was reliant on setting that up. However the use of Nadira works well and it's very creative to use her alongside Jen as the two of them did not spend much time together on the show. I also want to mention the Mighty Morphin comics use the zords very well, and they get highlight panels often. However there were no zord scenes in the one shots. I hope that will change in the future. Zack Taylor the classic Black Ranger is now being portrayed as "A ladies man" with several girls after him at once and Billy has an opportunity to go to a genius school. The parental characters are also occasionally showing up more in the stories and have their own personalities as well.
I very much relish the opportunity to add some comic facts to my blog. I have been reading comic books of many different kinds since the young age of nine. I'm so glad there are now great Power Ranger titles available too. Comic book megazord battles are really amazing. During the initial storyline with Lord Drakon the Falcon zord also returns. I even actually love seeing that one panel in the fourth issue where Tommy had to break into his own zord while Scorpina was controlling it. I hope to add more comic recaps later this year. However I also intend to go back to discussing classic episodes and to going over the three remaining full length features which I initially promised to review last year. I still fully intend to convey my proper thoughts on Turbo a Power Rangers Movie, the 2017 reboot, and The RPM and Samurai event - Clash of the Red Rangers. I believe each of these have good and bad moments contained within and I want to treat them with proper respect. To everyone who had to wait so long, you have my full respect and condolences. Back in 1993 Power Rangers primiered on TV in this same month, so I'm glad to use this as a return time. I hope to add some more stretched out and better comic recaps too. For now just consider this a preview of some of the ideas featured in the comics. I also promise to over time talk more about Lord Drakon, Psycho Green, and the Female black Time Force ranger Cyra Drake. These new exciting villains are all very imaginative and tricky characters. Cyra from the Time Force book was very much an antagonist but she was manipulated and misguided. I like that in the end they set up she had an opportunity to make her life better and redirect her negative energy. I'll be back very soon with more different Reports and more fascinating stories to tell. I hope to avoid any more insane delays. I have been collecting more toys too. There is a Psycho Green figure available that I hope to purchase soon. For now Psychos Red and blue will have to stand in. Special Thanks to Scottasl for the wonderful Turbo wallpaper that I am borrowing for a preview for my upcoming movie review. I also promise to practice doing better comic photos in the future. Consider the ones featured here a beta test. Thanks for staying tuned. It's great to be back. Happy Twenty-ninth year PR fans!
