PR Movies Part 2 The World Tour is Adventurous and Wild! Released in 1995!

Updated: Oct 18, 2021

This Review is for the World Tour Stage Show. I am rearranging my Big Event Review order but the other three Reviews will be up very soon. The Mighty Morphin World Tour event was sponsored by Dare and Seven-up and aired in many US cities and was released directly to VHS as a bonus PR video. The story can be spilt up into three acts. In the first act Lord Zedd lures the Rangers to uncharted territory with putties attacking Alpha and enacts a plan that results in Adam and Aisha's capture. The Rangerss must overcome Lumitor The Fire Lion, voiced by Cam Clarke. The Z twins are also introduced who were created solely for the show, they assisted Lord Zeddd in his scheme. The battle song "Fight" is also included. In Act 2 Lord Zedd raises the stakes by transforming his prisoners into cockatoos. Then Goldar and the Putties unleash The Hollow Monster. Hollow Monster is incredibly strong but is vulnerable to loud sounds. Adam and Aisha make sure the Rangers learn the secret. In the Final Act the Rangers attack Zedd's cave and face him head on in an epic showdown with the audience helping to ensure Zedd's defeat followed by a final fight with the Putties and The Z Twins accompanied by the battle song I Will Win composed by The Mighty Raw. (Look for a tribute to him early next year.) The show features several scenes where audience participation is encouraged. Alpha 5 promotes the Chant of "Go Go Power Rangers!" While Billy, Kimberly, and Rocky promote different chants that correspond with the different Monster fights. Squat got a rare spotlight moment and even pleased Zedd for once! Billy once again shows off Science power by using water to diffuse the Fire Lion. The mega Tigerzord was an important part of Billy's plan. Cam Clarke who voiced Lumitor is well known for playing many cartoon characters including Leonardo and Rocksteady from Ninja Turtles. This is the only time he was featured in a PR event. The event also featured a young Dan Southworth as the Black Ranger Stunt actor who would return as Eric Myers in the Time Force series.

This show grabs the viewer and brings you in with its fun plot and impressive backgrounds. It features some great Alpha 5 fun and even lets Salba play a rare strong role. Of course Bulk and Skull are missed but the Putties do participate in some brief comedy antics with the audience. It's all visual gags. The story features several Character challenges and teaches good lessons about teamwork. However when put up against the feature length movies it does seem a little less intense. After all with Ivan Ooze and Maligore, those characters threatened Earth's very existence and Lumitor and the Hollow Monster can't quite reach their level. Still it's a fun and energetic story, that shows the Rangers do what they do best. It does feature fights that get stretched for show purposes but that's how the audience gets to be part of the experience and enjoy the drama. Well maybe not a record breaker, it is very unique. I also give the story extra points for helping Dan Southworth start his PR career. In addition I love the after segment with Tommy and Aisha. These PR Messages were included here and on the Power Rangers "All Time Favorites" video miniseries. (New article on this to be added next year). For now I'll just say this segment is a nice special treat on the classic video. What I feel the best take away here is the challenge aspect. Even if the monsters were defeated by Water, Sound, and Light respectively. The energy of investigation and the thrill of discovery are great superhero plugs! I think in the future more challenging weaknesses might help broaden the stories. Plus we don't really need two heroes stuck as birds too often but at least they found a way to make them useful in the story. It's very memorable and I praise it for standing out so I'm glad to have it in this series. (Please note I was only able to accquire very few still scenes online and some more basic pictures will be used to extend the galley.) The Stage show falls in my personal number 5 slot for these events, but again it's still a stand-out. I look forward to continuing my remaining big event summaries!

Really good job describing the show! I think the producers probably tame it down a bit when they know young children will be in the audience. But I bet those kids enjoyed shouting "Go,go, Power Rangers!"

This is very well written. Concise, clear language, great summary of the plots and characters. The style you used here is some of your best writing. You might add a request for questions from your audience, like "Which picture do you like best?" or "How would you rate this show?" That might give you some feedback from your readers.
