"It's Time to Conquer Earth!"

Updated: Apr 15, 2019

Quick PR trivia question- Why were the Power Rangers needed in the first place? Answer-To take on this crazy She-devil; Rita Repulsa. I'm a huge Rita fan. I always love when she calls out "I got a headache!!" Rita was one of many deadly female villains that fascinated me as a kid. She's very expressive, she always says what's on her mind and I have to admit though she did fail a lot, she was very dedicated to her goals. Rita seems to keep coming back even though she has been beaten many times and she even got a new version in the reboot movie. Rita's backstory is kinda grey, considering she says Master Vile raised her but we also saw her in human form after Zordon's wave hit. Mystery is a big part of her charm. Rita has several evil subordinates, including Goldar, Scorpina, Squatt and Baboo, Finster, her brother Rito Revolto, and though his appearances were limited to only a first few first season episodes Lokarr who fires lighting strikes at his opponents. Quick note Lokarr never talked, so I didn't think doing a tribute just for him would be a lot of fun so I'm putting him here. Rita has Putties to suprise the Rangers with and carry out other meanial tasks. Rita can often be seen with her super powerful magic wand which is the key to making her monsters grow.

She has a terrific evil laugh. Rita has been causing trouble for a long time; over 10,000 years to be exact. Her long struggle with Zordon earned her some valuable spoils of war. Including the Green Power Coin and the Sword of Darkness, both of which were used to corrupt Tommy. Also as I talked about before I really do like Rita and Zed as a couple. Rita is said to have turned into the Mystic Mother sometime prior to Mystic Force. Once again the details are quite vague. Rita's new version in the reboot movie was shown to be epicly dangerous, even killing people which they could show since the movie was Pg-13. Rita has been potrayed by a number of different actresses and has had different voices. They include Machicko Soga (R.I.P.), Carla Perez, and Elizabeth Banks as main actors, and Barbara Goodson and Susan Brady providing voice only. Rita was a very big part of this show from the very begining and I won't lie she's no beauty queen but she certainly is a spectacle. Hero bonding is great, the heroes set terrific examples, but this series wouldn't be as exciting to watch without its terrific villains. Rita's legacy is already contining in the Boom Studios Comics and you never know she might pop up on TV again, it's always possible. Rita is one crazy witch and truly hyper-active. She does have a good side. But good luck finding it!!! Watch out for Rita's wrath!
